Soup

Soup

I love soup. I love to make soup. I love to smell soup cooking. I love to look at soup. I love to eat soup.

I like how it can make your nose run and make you feel better when you are a little under the weather. I really believe in the healing power of a good batch of soup. I think it has way more to do with the process of making soup and sharing soup and making a meal out of soup than it has to do with opening a can of soup and eating it alone.

Soup should be shared. I am making a big batch of soup and I am along. So, I am going to think of someone (or many) to share this soup with. I bet, whomever I choose will enjoy my soup. It is a rainy, dreary, cool, October morning. The perfect setting for my activity. The house is just starting to smell like soup. I love to use my crock pot for this event. I like to start early and build the anticipation of what the soup will taste like. I often season my soup by smell first, then I let it cook a while before giving it a taste test---which is an absolute necessity---I think---when making soup.

I do not use a recipe for most of the soups I make--they are usually a combination of what I am craving and what I have available. I love to make soup without having to make a special trip to the store. It is fun to see what I can come up with and what I can 'use-up' when I make a big pot of wonderfulness I like to call, SOUP.

Have a SOUP-er day,
Take care,
Theresa
