August is half over. School children are buying paper, pencils and backpacks. Some students have already begun the new school year. My first official day back is this coming Thursday. I will be going in Monday and Tuesday to get a few things done. I like to do that, I feel less rushed to get the 'first of the year' chores done.
I look forward to another year in my classroom. We will have only 4 or 5 new three year old children this year. Most of our children from last year will be returning--a bit older--and a bit more capable of learning new material. This is an exciting time of the school year. A fresh start to set the pace for the whole year.
Although it is sad to see the summer with my own children end; they will be going back to college--I do not see them as often during the school year--it is also a happy time. I am proud that they are continuing with their education and just that much closer to completing another phase of their lives.
Thought for today #4:
Put on that necklace you save for special occasions, and go water your flowers—they deserve it!

Find beauty where you are. You may find it in the interesting pattern some stones make on or near the road when you take a walk, or in a flower, bug, or bird--just open your eyes a little wider today and expect to see something beautiful and extraordinary--you most likely will.
Have a GREAT day,
Take Care,
MissT
